Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to perform continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Ability to lift regularly up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- For stock and fulfillment roles, ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Accountability and initiative to take ownership of responsibilities
Job Qualifications
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in customer service or retail preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules based on business needs
- Ability to stand and move continuously for 6-8 hours per shift
- Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting items up to 25 pounds
- Basic proficiency with technology and point of sale systems
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready, and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms (in-store, online and mobile), including operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items, handling bulky and heavy items, and ensuring a friendly experience
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
- Keep the stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
