Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Clear, effective communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to continuously move for 6-8 hours per shift including frequent bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items including lifting above head
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- For stock and fulfillment roles, frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy and ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready and is sized and filled in through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers when cashiering with a variety of transactions across different platforms including operating a point-of-sale system and bagging items
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor
- Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing and shipping standards
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process and research merchandise shipments
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide general support to the store including setting up special events, organizing backroom, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures
