Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift items up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally for stock and fulfillment roles
- Ability to continuously move for 6-8 hours per shift including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Ability to handle bulky, awkwardly shaped items
- Flexible schedule to meet business needs
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior retail or stock experience is beneficial but not required
Job Qualifications
- Clear and effective communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Accountability and initiative with a high level of ownership
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management preferred
- Experience in retail or customer service is a plus
- Ability to promote customer loyalty programs
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Work with the team to ensure the salesfloor stays runway ready and is sized and filled through re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day
- Assist customers with cashiering transactions across different platforms including in-store, online and mobile
- Operate point-of-sale system and bag items of various sizes including bulky and heavy items
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting clothing
- Keep salesfloor clean and clutter-free by sorting and returning clothing
- Organize stockrooms and accurately check in and ticket merchandise
- Demonstrate expertise in store technologies and adhere to operational, merchandise and asset protection standards
- Promote initiatives like Nordstrom Rewards program
- Receive, unload and unpack freight and deliver merchandise to selling departments
- Fulfill customer orders following quality standards
- Prepare and ship customer orders with proper packing
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan and process merchandise shipments
- Maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms
- Provide general store support such as setting up special events and relocating fixtures
