Job Requirements

Ability to prepare and bake bakery items including breads, cookies, cakes, and pastries
experience in decorating cakes and custom desserts

Job Duties

Prepare, bake, and finish a wide array of bakery items, including specialty breads, cookies, cakes, and various pastries
produce and decorate custom cakes and fancy desserts according to customer requests and company standards
operate and maintain essential bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicers safely and efficiently
ensure all baked goods adhere to Safeway’s stringent quality, freshness, and food safety guidelines
engage directly with customers, providing excellent service, answering product questions, and sharing enthusiasm for the bakery items
maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area, display cases, and shelving to ensure an appealing presentation for customers
actively participate in the company’s core values, including being customer-driven and raising the bar for quality and service
