Job Requirements

  • Passion for culinary craftsmanship and guest service
  • ability to create and serve beautiful, high-quality sushi in a fast-paced environment
  • strong communication skills and willingness to engage with members and guests
  • ability to lead a team and deliver consistent results
  • knowledge of safe knife handling and kitchen tools
  • understanding of food safety and HACCP protocols
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2 to 3 years of professional sushi preparation experience
  • ServSafe Food Manager Certification or equivalent
  • ServSafe Alcohol Safety or equivalent
  • experience in a guest-facing or open-kitchen concept
  • demonstrated ability to drive sales through presentation, specials, or guest engagement
  • experience with menu development, inventory management, and cost control
  • previous leadership or mentoring experience in a kitchen setting

Job Duties

  • Prepares and presents high-quality sushi while interacting with guests and ensuring a premium experience
  • designs and maintains sushi menus and pricing with a focus on fresh ingredients and guest appeal
  • develops, tests, and refines sushi recipes and preparation techniques to ensure consistency and minimize waste
  • conducts regular inventory and orders supplies based on demand forecasting and quality standards
  • leads, trains, and mentors sushi team members to ensure consistency in preparation, presentation, and service
  • ensures all team members follow food safety, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe, clean work environment
