Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of 1 year leadership experience in a food service or retail environment
  • ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously
  • ability to occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or climb including the use of ladders
  • ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds including lifting overhead
  • continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation
  • proficient communication skills through speech, reading, and writing
  • ability to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception to observe and respond to the environment
  • ability to work in an environment with hot and cold temperature variations and exposure to food allergens
  • ability to operate and work safely with restaurant equipment including knives, fryers, and potentially hazardous equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • must have reliable transportation
  • available to work a minimum of 5 days and 32 to 40 hours per week
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • successful completion of background check
  • demonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others
  • leadership experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete all training requirements including Zaxbys Shift Leader Development Plan
  • complete food safety certification
  • fulfill any additional training required by Zax LLC
  • create a culture of high performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standards
  • mentor, coach, and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to the General Manager
  • prioritize guest and team member experience and resolve complaints in a friendly and respectful manner
  • create and maintain positive culture and team morale through recognition and leading by example
  • communicate shift goals and motivate team members to perform at their highest ability
  • delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift
  • maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with Zaxbys franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
  • enhance guest experiences by ensuring team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations
  • receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts
  • manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessary
  • track food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and satisfaction
  • plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete
  • collaborate with management team to develop goals and report progress
  • ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations
  • follow company cash management policies
  • maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines
  • utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records
  • maintain flexibility to perform beyond the parameters of the position description
  • ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures
  • immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to General Manager and District Manager
  • escalate other concerns to supervisor when appropriate
  • perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly
