Job Requirements

  • Must represent Potbelly Advantage and Our Values
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail environment
  • Minimum educational requirement is a high school degree
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 2 opens and/or closes per week
  • Must be trained and pass Food Safety Certification course
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English via verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and coach others
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills at all times

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Lead associates on shifts, including assigning tasks such as cleaning, line duties, and opening or closing duties
  • Provide feedback and training to associates
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies, labor laws, and safety procedures
  • Execute all security procedures including safe open and close operations
  • Transition smoothly into opening and closing duties
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction
  • Empower associates to make sure all customers leave happy
  • Support and enforce food safety requirements and practices
  • Lead associates in opening, transitioning, and closing shifts without supervision
  • Manage and organize the line and delegate duties effectively
  • Maintain standards of product quality
  • Work on the line as needed
  • Ensure back-of-the-house procedural standards are met
  • Promote sales during shifts by executing the marketing plan
  • Control food costs, labor, waste, and cash on the shift
  • Count drawers and follow proper daily cash handling procedures
