Job Requirements
- be able to work weekends and holidays
- possess basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
- have ability to handle money accurately
- must be able to stand for up to 5 hours
- capable of lifting and maneuvering trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds
- communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
- follow restaurant policies and safety standards
- demonstrate good interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in restaurant service is beneficial
- basic math skills
- ability to communicate effectively in the predominant language(s) of guests
- familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- good physical stamina to stand for long periods and carry trays
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- make guests feel comfortable and cared for
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make genuine recommendations
- answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
- take food and beverage orders and enter them into point-of-sale system
- deliver food and beverages promptly
- perform side work at the start and end of shifts
- maintain clean service areas
- monitor guest dining experience and ensure satisfaction
- prepare final bills and process payments
- assist fellow servers and buspersons as needed
- thank guests and invite them to return
- fill in to ensure smooth restaurant operations as directed
