Job Requirements
- Must be able to obtain Indiana Serving Permit to serve alcoholic beverages
- must obtain food handling certification
- ability to communicate effectively
- basic dining service knowledge
- basic math skills
- physical stamina for standing
- ability to lift and carry trays
- willingness to assist team members
- flexible availability for AM or PM shifts
Job Qualifications
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
- have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
- possess basic math skills and ability to handle money
- ability to operate a point-of-sale system
- capable of standing for up to 5 hours
- able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- make guests feel comfortable and cared for
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make genuine recommendations
- answer questions about food, beverages and other services
- take orders and enter them in point-of-sale system
- deliver food and beverages promptly
- perform side work at shift start and end
- maintain clean service areas
- monitor guest dining experience and respond courteously
- prepare final bills and process payments
- assist fellow servers and bus persons
- thank guests and invite return visits
- fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
