Job Qualifications
- Prior restaurant serving experience preferred, strong communication skills, teamwork skills, multitasking skills, attention to detail, commitment to top-tier service, knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen handling, ability to obtain Food Handler's and Alcohol Service certifications, ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift/carry trays up to 40 lbs, flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Welcome guests warmly, escort them to tables, and provide menus
- Explain menu items, daily specials, and make recommendations
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them efficiently
- Ensure guests' needs are met, including refills and special dietary requests
- Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction
- Enter orders into the hotel's POS system correctly and efficiently
- Serve food and drinks promptly while following proper etiquette
- Ensure all dishes are delivered at the correct temperature with proper presentation
- Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues if needed
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers for seamless service and to ensure food is served at the right temperature, presentation, and in the correct order
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen personnel regarding any order modifications or special requests
- Alert the kitchen and management of any delays in food preparation or service issues
- Assist food runners and bussers in delivering and clearing plates
- Support teammates during peak hours to maintain smooth operations
- Communicate with the hotel front desk regarding reservations and special requests
- Set up tables with polished silverware, clean linens, and arranged dishware
- Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently
- Maintain clean and organized service stations and stocked with condiments, utensils, and napkins
- Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of hot dishes and allergens
- Adhere to restaurant policies regarding hygiene, personal appearance, and safety protocols
- Present checks, process payments, and handle hotel room charges
- Manage split checks, discounts, and gratuities according to hotel policies
- Adhere to hotel grooming and uniform standards, maintaining a polished appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Comply with company policies to include time and attendance, meal and rest breaks, uniform standards, professionalism, and code of conduct
- Uphold MacArthur Place's luxury service standards
- Maintain professionalism and a guest-first attitude
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
