Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior serving experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Prior restaurant serving experience preferred, strong communication skills, teamwork skills, multitasking skills, attention to detail, commitment to top-tier service, knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen handling, ability to obtain Food Handler's and Alcohol Service certifications, ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift/carry trays up to 40 lbs, flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests warmly, escort them to tables, and provide menus
  • Explain menu items, daily specials, and make recommendations
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them efficiently
  • Ensure guests' needs are met, including refills and special dietary requests
  • Check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction
  • Enter orders into the hotel's POS system correctly and efficiently
  • Serve food and drinks promptly while following proper etiquette
  • Ensure all dishes are delivered at the correct temperature with proper presentation
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues if needed
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers for seamless service and to ensure food is served at the right temperature, presentation, and in the correct order
  • Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen personnel regarding any order modifications or special requests
  • Alert the kitchen and management of any delays in food preparation or service issues
  • Assist food runners and bussers in delivering and clearing plates
  • Support teammates during peak hours to maintain smooth operations
  • Communicate with the hotel front desk regarding reservations and special requests
  • Set up tables with polished silverware, clean linens, and arranged dishware
  • Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain clean and organized service stations and stocked with condiments, utensils, and napkins
  • Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of hot dishes and allergens
  • Adhere to restaurant policies regarding hygiene, personal appearance, and safety protocols
  • Present checks, process payments, and handle hotel room charges
  • Manage split checks, discounts, and gratuities according to hotel policies
  • Adhere to hotel grooming and uniform standards, maintaining a polished appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Comply with company policies to include time and attendance, meal and rest breaks, uniform standards, professionalism, and code of conduct
  • Uphold MacArthur Place's luxury service standards
  • Maintain professionalism and a guest-first attitude
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
