Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
prior serving experience preferred
knowledge of food safety and hygiene
ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift/carry trays up to 40 lbs for extended periods
excellent communication and teamwork skills
flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
ability to obtain and maintain Food Handler's and Alcohol Service certifications as required
commitment to company grooming and uniform standards

Job Duties

Welcome guests warmly, escort them to tables, and provide menus
explain menu items, daily specials, and make recommendations
take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them efficiently
ensure guests' needs are met, including refills and special dietary requests
check in with guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction
enter orders into the hotel's POS system correctly and efficiently
serve food and drinks promptly while following proper etiquette
ensure all dishes are delivered at the correct temperature with proper presentation
address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues if needed
work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers for seamless service
communicate effectively with servers and kitchen personnel regarding any order modifications or special requests
alert the kitchen and management of any delays in food preparation or service issues
assist food runners and bussers in delivering and clearing plates
support teammates during peak hours to maintain smooth operations
communicate with the hotel front desk regarding reservations and special requests
set up tables with polished silverware, clean linens, and arranged dishware
clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently
maintain clean and organized service stations and stocked with condiments, utensils, and napkins
follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of hot dishes and allergens
adhere to restaurant policies regarding hygiene, personal appearance, and safety protocols
present checks, process payments, and handle hotel room charges
manage split checks, discounts, and gratuities according to hotel policies
adhere to hotel grooming and uniform standards, maintaining a polished appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
comply with company policies to include time and attendance, meal and rest breaks, uniform standards, professionalism, and code of conduct
uphold MacArthur Place's luxury service standards
maintain professionalism and a guest-first attitude
perform other duties as assigned by management
