Job Requirements
- Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
- Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required
- Upon employment, associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for safe and effective operation of the Hotel's facilities
- Associates who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including separation

Job Qualifications
- A high school or equivalent education is preferred
- Minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Communication skills, written or verbal, in the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Basic reading, writing, and math
- Ability to navigate necessary software and applications
- Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol, including the ability to take and pass the ServSafe Alcohol Safety class and exam
- Knowledge of table service standards and appropriate table settings and service ware, as well as knowledge of menu items and methods of preparation
- Ability to engage with guests and colleagues
Job Duties
- Take guest orders and serve food and beverages using established Hotel standards
- Complete all IHG and Hotel training
- Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease
- Check identification of guests appearing to be under 40 years of age
- Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests
- Clean and maintain workspace
- Perform pre- and post- shift duties such as cleaning and stocking
- Clean and maintain workspace including tables, walls, windows, floors, and in-room dining carts
- Engage with guests and colleagues using D.A.R.E. to connect behaviors
- Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times
- Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Restaurant Manager or the Person In Charge (PIC)
- Additional duties as necessary and assigned
