Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid food handler’s certification as required by law
  • minimum one year of food and beverage service experience preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • reliability with punctual attendance
  • basic computer literacy including POS and reservation systems
  • ability to safely perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 pounds
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred
  • prior guest relations training
  • knowledge of proper food handling
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and minimal supervision
  • punctuality and reliable attendance
  • proper food safety training and certification
  • experience working with computers including MS Office, Google, POS systems such as Micros and Aloha, and reservation software like OpenTable
  • ability to perform physical movements safely such as reaching, bending, and stooping
  • ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Greet all customers warmly
  • adhere to grooming and appearance standards
  • prepare dining tables for service including laying out napkins and utensils and refilling condiments
  • take guest food and beverage orders accurately
  • possess knowledge of current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations
  • handle table assignments and seat customers
  • suggest food and drinks and communicate customer needs to kitchen staff
  • ensure a memorable dining experience
  • properly open and pour wine tableside
  • accurately record revenue and accept various payment methods
  • perform basic cleaning tasks as directed
  • assist with special events
  • answer telephone with proper etiquette
  • develop and maintain positive relationships with coworkers
  • bus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes
  • assist kitchen with prep work or plating
  • clean front-of-house areas including windows and light fixtures
  • perform service-related tasks such as filling water bottles and rolling silverware
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
