Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Serving experience preferred
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods during meal shifts
- Able to bend, stoop and reach overhead
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to operate beverage, coffee and microwave machines and handle knives safely

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to work well with others including staff, supervisors, residents, families, volunteers and the public
- Must be able to operate and clean beverage machine, coffee machine, microwave oven and knives

Job Duties
- Ensure the dining experience is enjoyable through cheerful behavior and adherence to merchandising, plate presentation and service procedures
- Communicate with residents to take meal orders and provide service during meals
- Serve full table service to all residents and guests
- Set up and break down dining room
- Clean up wait station and other areas
- Stock all items used in work procedure
- Maintain a positive, personable and pleasant demeanor at all times
- Promptly and accurately report any resident problems, inquiries, requests or concerns to supervisor
- Serve food to residents according to their orders
- Accurately set up workstation with all necessary items prior to service
- Properly handle and prepare food in accordance with Health Department regulations
- Keep equipment clean and sanitized
- Communicate out of stock items to manager
- Make menu changes only with manager or supervisor consent
- Use sufficient dexterity to handle food and equipment safely and efficiently
- Report faulty equipment needing repair
- Answer phone, take messages or take out orders
- Substitute for any position within the department
- Properly cut pies and cakes
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Attend departmental education and required in-service training
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, family, and facility information
- Respond to fire alarms and assist resident evacuation as needed
- Cooperate with staff of other departments
- Represent organization professionally
- Provide quality customer service in all interactions
- Perform other duties as required
