Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
minimum one year of food and beverage service experience preferred
certification in food safety and handling
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
ability to stand for prolonged periods
ability to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds
dependable attendance and punctuality
ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
knowledge of point-of-sale and reservation software systems
attention to detail and accuracy
ability to follow health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred
prior guest relations training
knowledge of proper food handling
strong written and verbal communication skills
ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperation with minimal supervision
punctuality and reliable attendance
proper food safety training and certification as required by law
experience working with computers including MS Office and Google
proficiency with POS systems such as Micros and Aloha
familiarity with reservation software like Open Table
ability to safely perform various physical movements such as reaching, bending, and stooping
ability to push and pull vacuum cleaners and wheeled carts weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

Greet all customers warmly
adhere to grooming and appearance standards
prepare dining tables for service including laying out napkins and utensils, refilling condiments, performing side-work tasks
take guest food and beverage orders accurately
have knowledge of current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations
handle table assignments, seat customers, suggest food and drinks, communicate customer needs to cooks
ensure a memorable dining experience
properly open and pour wine tableside
accurately record revenue and accept payments via cash, credit card, room charges, and direct billing
perform basic cleaning tasks as directed
assist with special events if needed
answer telephone using appropriate etiquette
develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
bus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes if necessary
assist kitchen with prep work or plating if necessary
clean front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures, and entrance as assigned
fill water bottles, cut fruit, roll silverware, and complete other service-related tasks
perform other duties as assigned by management
