Job Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
- must be at least 21 years of age
- prior food and beverage service experience required
- knowledge of food safety and liquor laws
- ability to perform physical tasks such as frequent walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays
- ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
- ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- ability to work in indoor and outdoor conditions
- ability to adapt to changing work conditions and schedules
Job Qualifications
- Must enjoy working with the public and have a strong appreciation for the guest experience
- knowledgeable of fine and casual dining styles, proper food and beverage service, basic cooking techniques, current health codes and liquor laws
- well spoken with a can-do attitude
- quick learner with hands-on accountability
- minimum three years of food and beverage experience
- management experience preferred
- able to perform and teach all front of house skills and willing to learn back of house skills
- demonstrate enthusiasm, graciousness, flexibility, adaptability, strong leadership and organizational skills
- ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- strong communication skills in English, both orally and written
- ability to work as part of a team
- active listening and observation skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for gracious guest services
- attending to guests inquiries, comments, and concerns while representing the Higgins Beach Inn and Migis Hotel Group professionally
- work with other food and beverage management to uphold standards of product and operational execution of restaurant and bar services
- continuously direct, evaluate, and improve food and beverage services
- knowledgeable about all foods served, plating and beverage pairings, kitchen timing, and execution of menu items
- act as liaison between guests, service staff, and kitchen
- responsible for daily shift reporting including schedule changes, product inventories, ordering/delivery invoices and sales
- recruit, train, and schedule front of house employees to budget
- provide timely feedback to associates
- provide leadership by active participation on the floor
- communicate effectively with management and across hotel lines
- maintain knowledge of house counts and business levels
- assist in staffing and scheduling based on forecasted business and labor targets
- fill shifts and alter schedule as needed
- manage bar service, cocktail and wine menus, and beverage purchasing
- ensure facility cleanliness and maintenance
- enforce health and safety codes, licensing, and laws
- perform monthly liquor, beer, wine, and soda inventories
- protect assets of Higgins Beach Inn and Migis Hotel Group
- understand and practice personal sanitation and safety
- notify management of broken equipment or unsafe conditions
