Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience in the restaurant business
  • 2 years in a leadership capacity
  • ability to handle physical demands of the job
  • proficiency with cash handling and financial transactions
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • willingness to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 30 pounds
  • capacity to work in temperature-varied kitchen and refrigerated areas
  • strong listening and verbal communication abilities
  • alignment with company values and culture

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in the restaurant industry
  • at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • experience in food cost control and profit and loss management
  • competency with POS and kitchen operational systems
  • ability to train and motivate staff
  • problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations
  • commitment to diversity and respectful workplace
  • knowledge of food safety standards and regulations

Job Duties

  • Listen to and accommodate guests and employees
  • build strong employee rapport through teaching, coaching, and guiding
  • utilize basic cost control and minimize waste
  • maintain attention to detail in food preparation
  • use technology systems such as Aloha, Kitchen Display Systems, and POS
  • accurately handle cash and financial transactions
  • support the General Manager with leadership duties
  • assist in employee disciplinary actions
  • train and supervise team members
  • ensure compliance with company policies
  • coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • ensure food safety standards are met
  • lead and uplift staff during busy periods
  • demonstrate strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • identify business priorities and set goals
  • embrace and promote Starbird’s core values, hospitality and service standards
  • perform physical tasks including standing, lifting, and working in varied temperature environments
