Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree or higher in hospitality or food service management
  • Minimum two years management experience in hotel or quality food service operation
  • Certification as food service manager or ability to obtain required certification
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence
  • Compliance with hotel policies and procedures
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards
  • Ability to address guests by name

Job Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree or higher in Hospitality or Food Service management
  • Thorough knowledge of upscale food service operations administration
  • Two years management experience in hotel or quality standalone food service operation
  • Certification as Food Service Manager or ability to obtain as required by regulations
  • Ability to maintain effective operational and control processes for maximum efficiency
  • Strong management, leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Friendly, sincere and professional demeanor to make guests feel important
  • Ability to address guests by name consistently

Job Duties

  • Maintains outlet staffing levels to provide for optimal performance
  • Represents the Director of Food and Beverage in his or her absence
  • Ensures adherence to departmental and Loews Hotels guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Responsible for smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of outlets including labor management, supervision of service, and inventory control
  • Personally supervises outlet activities to ensure quality production and delivery of product and service
  • Interacts with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of dining experience
  • Prepares all department storeroom requisitions and ensures operational costs are within budget
  • Reviews daily payroll reports and controls labor costs by adjusting staff levels
  • Communicates daily with Executive Chef or Sous Chef regarding reservations, large parties and VIPs
  • Interviews, trains, appraises, coaches, counsels and disciplines personnel
  • Follows New Hire Training and Star Service Competency program
  • Evaluates employee performance and sets goals for improvement and advancement
  • Coaches and retrains employees to ensure superior performance
  • Attends hotel and departmental meetings to stay informed and maintain communication
  • Evaluates guest needs and competitive market changes to recommend product and service adjustments
  • Visible and works the floor during peak food service times
  • Performs other duties as assigned
