Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2-3 years of restaurant management experience
  • ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
  • ability to read and write for communication
  • finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
  • willingness to work in all restaurant positions as needed
  • compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food certification is a plus
  • Serve Safe Alcohol certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee's core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
  • participates in employee development using One-on-One and performance documentation
  • assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback, and works on areas of development
  • monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • responsible for controlling cost in assigned department
  • ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories and is accountable for completion
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on store related technology
  • must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist as needed including cooking, expo, seating guests, bartending
  • uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
