Job Description

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is situated in the renowned Deer Valley ski resort, approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. This prestigious hotel is part of an ambitious new development that includes 17 ski lifts, roughly 1,600 residential units, 8 hotels totaling approximately 1,350 rooms, around 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest "ski beaches" in the world. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current alcohol server certification and/or food service permit
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8-12 hours during shifts
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable and professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication skills both on the phone and in person
  • Knowledge of computers and reservation systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Current alcohol server certification and/or food service permit as required by local or state government agency
  • Food service or other relevant certifications
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Minimum age of 18 years

Job Duties

  • Welcome and create the first impression for dining guests both on the phone and in person
  • Take down reservations accurately
  • Provide appropriate table accommodations
  • Offer menu recommendations to guests
  • Ensure guest satisfaction as a final point of contact
  • Maintain knowledge of computer and reservation systems
  • Adapt to a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and various shifts
