Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Experience or knowledge of restaurant operations and guest relations
- Ability to multi-task and handle difficult situations diplomatically
- Capacity to seat guests efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Adherence to House of Blues uniform and appearance policy
- Basic computer proficiency
- Flexibility in scheduling including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Working knowledge of restaurant operations and guest relations
- Skill in diplomacy, multitasking, verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal relations
- Ability to handle potentially volatile situations with tact
- Ability to seat guests efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Adherence to uniform and appearance policies
- Basic computer skills
- Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Preferred high skill in Open Table or other reservation software
- Knowledge of POS systems such as MICROS
- Previous customer service or host experience
- Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Meet, greet and seat guests with a positive and friendly attitude
- Act as a source of information for all guests entering the House of Blues
- Manage guest flow and control seating arrangements
- Obtain guest details including party size and special needs
- Utilize the HOB reservation system to estimate wait times
- Guide guests to tables and provide menus
- Anticipate and respond to guest satisfaction needs
- Promote current shows, menu items, and retail offerings
- Answer guest questions about menu, events, and venue history
- Communicate wait times and special event details to appropriate staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and entry areas
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Assist other employees and departments as needed
- Work special events as scheduled
