Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Working knowledge of restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, and problem solving
  • Skill in diplomacy, handling multiple tasks, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to diffuse possibly volatile situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to seat guests efficiently in high volume environment
  • Adherence to House of Blues uniform and appearance policy
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Working knowledge of restaurant operations, guest relations, and seating procedures
  • Skill in diplomacy, multitasking, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to diffuse potentially volatile situations with tact
  • Efficient in basic computer skills
  • Flexible availability for days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Preferred: experience with Open Table or similar reservation software
  • knowledge of POS systems such as MICROS
  • previous customer service or host experience
  • skilled in interpersonal communication and teamwork

Job Duties

  • Meet, greet and seat all guests with a positive, friendly, helpful attitude
  • Control the flow of guests entering and waiting for tables
  • Utilize reservation system to estimate and quote accurate wait times
  • Show guests to tables and present menus
  • Market current and future shows, menu items, and retail
  • Answer guest questions about menu, events, music, and artists
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of host area throughout the shift
