Job Duties
- Supervises restaurant activities in absence of manager
- controls reservation book, accepts reservations and enters them accurately
- maintains guest history files to enhance repeat guests experience
- assigns work stations and pre-meal side work and inspects dining room and service areas before meal periods
- maintains guest records including arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, availability
- inspects menus for cleanliness and acceptability
- greets guests politely and professionally
- determines guest needs and verifies table availability
- guides guests to appropriate tables and presents menus
- ensures removal of unnecessary place settings
- notifies servers of guest seating and special requests
- inspects dining room appearance and assigns correction of deficiencies
- monitors dining room activity and assists servers and assistants
- assigns post-meal side work and ensures completion
- other duties as assigned
