Job Qualifications
- Prior experience as a host or in a customer-facing role within the hospitality industry preferred but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism
- Friendly and outgoing personality to make guests feel welcome and valued
- Familiarity with reservation management systems and basic computer skills
- Flexible schedule including availability evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Warmly greet and welcome guests as they arrive, providing them with a positive first impression of the restaurant
- Handle reservations via phone, online booking systems, and in-person requests
- Maintain an organized reservation system and accommodate special requests when possible
- Manage seating of guests in a timely and efficient manner, balancing table rotation to optimize guest satisfaction and operational flow
- Collaborate with the restaurant team including servers and managers to ensure smooth operations and guest experience
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns or special requests, escalating issues to management as needed
- Uphold the standards and culture of the restaurant by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere
- Have thorough knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, daily specials, and promotions to answer guest inquiries
