Job Requirements
- 1-2 years of restaurant general manager experience in restaurants
- Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Follow Smashburger uniform standards
- Ability to follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by Smashburger, local, state, and federal employment regulations
- Must successfully complete Smashburger training program
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- People management skills to effectively select, assess, coach, counsel, develop, motivate, and lead restaurant teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven time management, consistency, and organizational skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and results driven
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and to move and lift boxes of food/supplies up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in high and low temperatures
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of Restaurant General Manager experience in restaurants
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to develop, coach, motivate, and lead teams
- Attention to detail
- Proven time management and organizational skills

- Successful completion of Smashburger training program
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to follow company guidelines and procedures
Job Duties
- Report to the Director of Operations or District Manager and support restaurant management teams
- Manage performance of Restaurant Managers, Shift Leaders, and employees
- Promote a fun and positive work environment
- Develop future leaders for the company
- Manage people-focused processes and systems
- Ensure adequate staffing including recruitment, retention, and performance management
- Provide initial and ongoing employee training using SmashConnect LMS and 4-step training method
- Reward and recognize employee performance
- Conduct talent reviews and performance conversations
- Partner with Human Resources Business Partner to manage disciplinary processes
- Resolve employee relations issues with appropriate support
- Oversee daily operational checklists including line checks, uniform standards, opening/closing checklists, and safe/deposit logs
- Manage franchise system compliance and complete corrective action plans for audits
- Handle guest experience metrics (NPS and OSAT) and resolve complaints within 24 hours
- Ensure food safety standards compliance
- Exemplify guest service and communicate service standards
- Manage onboarding and training for new employees
- Facilitate management communication
- Control expenses within budgets
- Manage COGS through inventory and ordering systems
- Manage spending on cleaning, wares, and operating costs
- Follow company cash policies to prevent loss
- Engage in community involvement to build sales
- Manage labor costs effectively
- Participate in profit and loss reviews
- Build schedules based on sales forecasts and labor percentages
- Manage local store marketing programs as assigned
