Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years general manager experience in restaurant or retail with P&L responsibility
- Food safety certification as required by state
- Open availability
- Ability to work 45 hours weekly including standing/walking for 9-10 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must spend 80-90% time on shop floor
- Strong customer service skills
- Financial literacy
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years as a general manager in restaurant or retail with P&L responsibility
- Experience in the restaurant industry preferred
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong business acumen and financial literacy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities
- Ability to manage a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Open availability and food safety certification
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Duties
- Select and hire great employees who represent Potbelly values
- Train and develop all employees to the next level
- Assess staff abilities and create effective development plans
- Delegate tasks and hold team accountable
- Build relationships and communicate goals with the team
- Provide timely performance appraisals
- Enforce personnel policies, labor laws and safety procedures
- Make customers really happy and handle customer issues
- Measure and improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and product quality standards
- Provide fast, friendly and accurate service
- Increase comp sales and deliver budget goals
- Lead local marketing efforts and community involvement
- Create plans to continuously improve the business
- Control cost of goods, variances and inventories
- Staff and schedule to control labor costs
- Ensure proper cash handling and inventory ordering
- Analyze financial reports and increase profit flow-through
