Job Description
The position of Restaurant Floor Supervisor is located within Plateia, a distinguished full-service restaurant operating under the auspices of UCLA's Luskin Conference Center. Job Requirements
- Background check
- Live Scan background check prior to employment
- must be 18 years or older
- pre-placement physical examination
- availability to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- must be at least 21 years of age
- TIPS California Responsible Beverage Server certification preferred

- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- skill in maintaining high productivity despite interruptions and changing priorities
- skill in interacting with guests and team members using positive body language and professional demeanor
- demonstrated supervisory skills including delegation and motivation
- skill in controlling costs and inventory
- proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hospitality software
- skill in writing grammatically correct business English
- working knowledge of safety and sanitation rules for food service
Job Duties
- Provide team leadership and supervision in Plateia
- oversee the successful execution of meal service
- maintain a high level of customer service
- adhere to all food handling and sanitation guidelines
- support the bar manager with alcoholic beverage service
- control costs and inventory including food, labor, and supplies
- delegate work to staff to accomplish departmental goals
- motivate team members to collaborate effectively
