Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 months cooking experience in full service restaurant or hotel
  • valid food safety certification
  • ability to prep food using standardized techniques
  • skillful use of hand tools and machines
  • ability to read recipes
  • physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • stand for long periods
  • ability to work overtime or irregular hours
  • comply with health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Open and prepare station each morning
  • cook all food necessary for service start
  • prepare all lunch items including sauces, soups, and buffet entrees
  • switch kitchen operations from breakfast to lunch at assigned times
  • rearrange line and steam table to facilitate service
  • prepare all orders quickly and according to specifications
  • ensure food leaves kitchen in peak condition
  • learn menus, recipes, preparation, and presentation
  • store food properly with correct containers and temperatures
  • cook sufficient food to cover expected volume
  • prepare food for other kitchen departments as needed
  • prep food for next shift and following day
  • maintain clean and sanitary work area and equipment
  • comply with health and safety regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
