Job Requirements

  • Lift 20 lbs with one hand
  • Stand without sitting for up to 5 hours
  • Reach at least 36 inches horizontally or vertically
  • Handle small and medium size woks for up to 4 hours continuously
  • Perform repetitive cutting and slicing motions safely using a Chinese cook's knife
  • Practice good personal hygiene
  • Follow instructions and procedures accurately
  • Work under pressure during peak periods
  • Attention to details of food quality, preparation, and presentation

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen or food preparation environment
  • Knowledge of Asian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Basic math skills for inventory and portion control
  • Food safety certification is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare stir-fry dishes according to company recipes and guest orders
  • Cook ingredients for menu items as assembled by the Apportioner
  • Adjust seasoning, cooking procedures, and times to meet company standards
  • Mix sauces and marinades following company recipes
  • Follow health department regulations in food handling and preparation
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely including range, oven, deep fryer, and knives
  • Assist management in developing menu specials and training hourly staff
