Job Requirements
- Minimum of two years kitchen experience
- Ability to stand for up to nine hours
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- Good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers and team members
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control standards
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Experience with various cooking methods including broiling, grilling, frying and sautéing
Job Duties
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station including all kitchen equipment
- Prepares items for cooking by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Assists in food prep during off-peak periods as needed
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows closing checklist for kitchen stations
