Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of culinary leadership experience
- Familiarity with unionized kitchen environments preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full-time with availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to manage a team of approximately 18 employees
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of leadership experience in high-volume kitchen operations
- Experience leading unionized teams preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen compliance
- Proven skills in team development, mentoring, and communication
- Ability to manage inventory, scheduling, cost control, and budgeting
- Experience in menu development and food quality standards
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Job Duties
- Lead daily culinary production including meal preparation, food quality and presentation, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Manage team member productivity and performance, including scheduling, training, mentoring, and conducting evaluations
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control to ensure financial profitability
- Create and implement new menus and individual food items that reflect creativity and quality
- Perform general management duties such as budget forecasting, report generation, and departmental meeting participation
- Visually inspect and select quality food and beverage products including fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, and spices
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members to maintain a skilled and motivated kitchen staff
