Job Requirements

  • Requires post-secondary training via community college, technical school, culinary arts school or four-year university
  • must have a minimum of 5 years managerial or supervisory experience in the food service industry
  • must be certified in Serve Safe Management certification course
  • must demonstrate team management, delegation, issue resolution, coaching skills and ability to motivate others
  • must be organized and able to manage multiple projects and issues
  • must have the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents and converse comfortably with individuals

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of culinary staff
  • assigns responsibilities for specified work and sets deadlines for timely completion
  • promotes safety and sanitation and inspects all food product handling
  • establishes and maintains safe practices and follows HACCP procedures
  • establishes and maintains contact with food vendors
  • prices and orders food and kitchen supplies
  • maintains effective cost control, service and quality standards
  • complies with company and franchise standards and applicable regulatory procedures
  • ensures all products are prepared and presented according to brand standards
  • identifies hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or associate status changes
  • maintains effective communication and positive associate relations including performance reviews, progressive discipline, resolving associate issues, managing incentive programs, and executing development programs
  • provides high quality customer service and ensures proper staff training and support for customer satisfaction and product quality
