Job Requirements

  • Must represent Potbelly Advantage and values
  • minimum 2 years management experience in restaurant or retail
  • high school diploma
  • food safety certification required
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours daily
  • willingness to work at least 45 hours per week
  • physical stamina for fast-paced environment
  • ability to manage fast-paced restaurant operations
  • ability to handle customer service challenges
  • strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • knowledge of relevant labor laws and safety protocols
  • authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree
  • minimum of 2 years management experience in restaurant or retail
  • strong customer service skills
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong organizational and multitasking ability
  • ability to lead and develop teams
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent)
  • ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • strong business acumen
  • effective scheduling and labor management skills
  • conflict resolution skills
  • prior experience in employee training and evaluation

Job Duties

  • Train, coach, and develop associates and shift leaders
  • conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback
  • enforce work rules, policies, labor laws, and safety procedures
  • schedule staff and manage labor goals
  • handle customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • manage food safety compliance and uniform policy enforcement
  • control inventory, food cost, labor, and cash handling
  • drive local marketing and recruiting efforts
  • ensure shop security and safety procedures
  • update communication boards
  • lead meetings with associates and shift leaders
