Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Good personal hygiene
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately

Job Duties

  • Host activities and guest interaction
  • Report to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform and practice good personal hygiene
  • Open doors as guests enter and leave
  • Use greeting, seating and waiting list procedures
  • Seat guests in a friendly and timely manner in person or on telephone
  • Anticipate, identify and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
  • Complete wait sheets
  • Greet and seat guests, describe menu features and soup of the day
  • Check out guests at the register, ask about meal satisfaction and invite guests to return
  • Ensure hospitality by regularly moving through the dining room to check guest needs
  • Promote and package take-out bakery items
  • Maintain cleanliness of cashier area, bakery cases, lobby, entryway, restrooms and dining room
  • Ensure menus are clean
  • Process to-go orders
  • Assist servers by pre bussing tables
  • Sweep floors around tables
  • Perform side work during downtime including rolling silverware, restocking cleaning stations, bussing tables
  • Provide assistance to servers and bus persons to execute service standards
  • Communicate with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies and safety issues
  • Keep General Manager and Manager on Duty informed of problems and propose solutions
