Job Requirements

  • ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours

  • ability to handle exposure to heat, steam, smoke and cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • no prior baking experience required as training is provided

Job Duties

  • Bake - prepare bakery items according to company standards and specifications
  • label and date all trays of baked items
  • observe proper food storage procedures
  • ensure high standards of food safety
  • set up and maintain the display cases using proper merchandising techniques
  • work with host and cashier to set up samples, holiday packaging and merchandising
  • follow proper sanitation procedures in kitchen, walk-ins and dry storage areas
  • keep bakery prep and storage areas clean and organized
  • clean and sanitize bakery cases and equipment
  • control food cost by properly portioning and following recipes
  • utilize FIFO standards when preparing items
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas
  • follow safety procedures and policies concerning food handling and storage
  • conduct line sweeps and practice clean as you go
  • understand OSHA requirements and health department standards
  • clean all equipment as directed by manager
  • anticipate, identify and correct system breakdowns for guest satisfaction
  • communicate with managers and coworkers regarding product or service deficiencies, equipment or safety problems
  • keep management informed of issues and propose solutions
  • assist team members with prep and dishwashing duties
  • assist front of house staff with cleanliness of bakery cases
  • provide guest service by cooperating with front of house staff
