Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • must be able to see at distance of 20 feet and at close range of 12 inches
  • ability to distinguish shapes and use peripheral vision to avoid hazards
  • must be able to communicate clearly
  • exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold
  • ability to reach heights of around 6 feet and depths of 2.5 to 3 feet
  • high level of mobility and flexibility in confined spaces
  • must have time management skills
  • ability to read, write, and perform addition and subtraction calculations
  • manual dexterity to write, slice, chop and operate equipment
  • ability to fit through 30-inch wide openings
  • ability to work under heavy pressure and stress during busy times
  • ability to bend, reach, and carry trays weighing about 50 pounds up to 30 feet
  • must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals

Job Duties

  • Bake bakery items according to company standards and specifications
  • label and date all trays of baked items
  • observe proper food storage procedures and ensure food safety
  • set up and maintain bakery display cases using proper merchandising techniques
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas
  • clean and sanitize bakery equipment, pans, and utensils
  • accurately portion food products according to recipes
  • utilize FIFO standards when preparing items
  • communicate product and service deficiencies with management
  • assist dishwasher with washing and restocking dishes
  • support front of house staff with bakery case cleanliness
  • perform line sweeps and adhere to 'clean as you go' policy during shifts
  • follow OSHA and health department standards
  • anticipate and address system breakdowns to maintain guest satisfaction
