Job Requirements

  • Current Food Handlers Card
  • guest or hospitality service experience
  • restaurant host or hostess experience
  • restaurant server experience
  • ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
  • ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • ability to complete forms and documents
  • ability to accept constructive criticism
  • ability to routinely lift and carry 25 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • ability to bend, stoop, push and pull
  • ability to appear for work on time

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat restaurant guests
  • take telephone food orders
  • relay food orders to servers
  • document guest count
  • alert servers and guests when tables are ready
  • respond to guest requests
  • answer guest questions and provide menu information
  • explain guest seating program
  • assist guests courteously
  • clean dining surfaces and dispose of trash
  • reset tables following procedures
  • stock and clean host/hostess workstations
  • roll silverware and fold napkins
