Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping experience required
  • demonstrated knowledge of characteristics and needs of persons with a serious mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders
  • ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, family members, behavioral health professionals, government representatives, and the public at large
  • demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • possession of valid driver’s license and good driving record, or ability to arrange for reliable transportation

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Overall housekeeping duties
  • assist persons served with personal hygiene and grooming needs such as dressing, shaving, denture care, hair care, foot/skin care, etc.
  • assist with overall wellness and health maintenance
  • help prepare and cook meals
  • clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms/showers, and common areas including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
  • help persons served with laundry needs by washing, folding, distributing, and keeping laundry clean and organized
  • provide a safe and supportive living environment
  • create recreation and leisure activities
  • assist in the continuing development and enhancement of agency-wide tobacco cessation and other wellness initiatives based on evidence-based practices
  • provide support to other team members in their area of expertise to increase inter-professional staff knowledge and effectiveness
  • contributes as a member of the rehabilitation and integrated health treatment team and care plan
