Job Requirements

  • Possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
  • possess, as a minimum, one year safety management experience and be knowledgeable of safety regulations
  • 1-3 years maintenance experience and knowledge of life safety code regulations preferred
  • prior experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
  • be willing to work flexible hours
  • must support team and process based organizational culture
  • be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language
  • be able to push, move and/or lift a minimum of 75 lbs. to a minimum height of 3 ft. and be able to push, pull, move and/or lift such weight a minimum distance of 100 ft.
  • possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise non-professional personnel
  • be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the essential functions of the position can be fully met
  • be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility
  • be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • be able to maintain regular attendance

Job Duties

  • Is responsible for all aspects of the Maintenance, Housekeeping and Security teams including performance, project management, process improvement, budget oversight, and capabilities
  • develops staffing plan, recruits, manages, and develops team members reporting directly to the position
  • manages plant and physical assets to ensure the safety of buildings and equipment using preventative and corrective maintenance
  • develops effective processes to deliver results in the following areas: quality, value, customer satisfaction, financial results, team member satisfaction, and regulatory compliance
  • carries out assigned role in ECH’s Emergency & Disaster Plan
  • ensures compliance with all CMS and life safety code and documentation requirements, including but not limited to, fire alarm testing, sprinkler inspections, and generator logs
  • maintains and develops knowledge of maintenance, housekeeping and security services through participation in networks, associations, and other professional development opportunities
  • ensures a safe and calm environment in accordance with regulations and ERS standards
  • is available by cell phone during off hours for emergencies and team member support
  • supports ERS’s mission and values, upholding ERS Statement of Management, Resident Rights, Confidentiality, and Ways of Working
  • drives company vehicles or valet parks guest vehicles when required
