Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years full-time relevant work experience
  • Experience supervising student or graduate employees
  • Budget development or management experience
  • Proficiency with computer and database systems
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
  • Compliance with FERPA and PCI regulations
  • Commitment to protection of minors policies
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with StarRez or similar software
  • Ability to manage budgets
  • Experience in higher education is preferred.

Job Qualifications

  • Two years post bachelor’s full-time work experience in university camps and conferences, university residential housing, hotel management, event planning, hospitality, or other university auxiliary business
  • Previous supervision of student or graduate level employees
  • Experience in budget development or management
  • Technical skills including computer and database systems
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service experience with diverse populations
  • One year direct customer service experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build client relationships
  • Experience using StarRez software or similar
  • Ability to assess and evaluate program standards
  • Ability to solve complex issues
  • Direct higher education experience, preferably in university housing.

Job Duties

  • Manage the residential guest service program including conferences, intern center, guest housing, and short-stay programs
  • Manage external sales, contracting, booking, and invoicing with a growth-minded focus
  • Implement marketing plans to increase annual RGS revenue
  • Coordinate with University Housing and campus stakeholders on facility use
  • Manage guest service amenities and consumables
  • Ensure compliance with protection of minors policies
  • Manage and monitor the operational budget of residential guest services
  • Develop and manage databases, including process setup, evaluation, and communications
  • Maintain contract inquiry, contracting, and reservation methods using StarRez and EMS systems
  • Coordinate development and revision of reports and dashboards
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures
  • Assess guest satisfaction and ensure service standards
  • Supervise student staff supporting administrative and front-of-house operations
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and support related to housing contracting policies and FERPA compliance
  • Provide office coverage during open hours, including answering calls and emails
  • Establish and train staff on administrative and customer service standards
  • Support staff in resolving complex logistical and interpersonal issues
  • Resolve non-routine housing concerns
  • Lead departmental committees and participate in large-scale housing events
  • Complete special projects and assignments
  • Respond to emergencies on site assisting staff and residents
  • Collaborate with campus departments and maintain partnerships
  • Strategize and resolve sensitive housing-related issues including disabilities and gender identity
  • Analyze data for housing assignments and develop solutions
  • Lead outreach efforts including housing tours
  • Advise stakeholders about housing units and contracts
  • Plan and manage housing initiatives and occupancy for all terms
  • Draft and maintain annual contracts and memos with campus departments.
