Job Description

Associated Students (AS) at California State University, Chico is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation dedicated to enhancing the student experience by providing a wide range of programs, services, and business enterprises. Serving thousands of students, faculty, staff, and community members, AS operates various facilities including residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at CSU Chico with at least 6 units undergraduate or 4 units graduate
  • Ability to work weekday lunch shifts, 10am-2pm
  • Ability to obtain California Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire
  • Must provide original documents for Form I-9 verification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects up to 25lbs
  • Attention to detail and good grammar for application
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week during school semester

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Currently enrolled in 6 units for undergraduate or 4 units for graduate studies at CSU Chico
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Ability to work reliably and follow directions
  • Ability to obtain a California Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for the duration of the shift

Job Duties

  • Prepares and/or serves food as directed
  • Follows food safety guidelines and handling requirements
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area
  • Sets up service/preparation areas as assigned
  • Cleans and replenishes the service/preparation areas, dining room, and dishwashing areas during and after service
  • Follows all AS Dining Services food and work safety standards, operating procedures and policies and notifies supervisors in the event of a violation
  • Provides high quality service to customers
  • assists in meeting the department's customer service objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
