Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to provide transportation
  • Ability to perform physical personal management and household management tasks
  • Compliance with all regulatory and safety training requirements
  • Ability to participate in mandated trainings and staff meetings
  • Ability to perform physical interventions and First Aid as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in health or human services
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of advocacy and self-advocacy techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues
  • High motivation to learn and practice new skills
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity

Job Duties

  • Provide individual and group support to persons served in a residential program
  • Teach skills to enhance independence and quality of life
  • Ensure a safe, secure and clean residential environment
  • Assist individuals in becoming fully integrated into their communities
  • Plan recreational and social activities that promote social inclusion and emotional well-being
  • Support individuals in accessing assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Maintain records, collect data, and document all information related to individuals and programs
