Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to provide transportation
- Ability to perform physical personal management and household management tasks
- Compliance with all regulatory and safety training requirements
- Ability to participate in mandated trainings and staff meetings
- Ability to perform physical interventions and First Aid as needed
Job Qualifications
- Experience in health or human services
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of advocacy and self-advocacy techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues
- High motivation to learn and practice new skills
- Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
Job Duties
- Provide individual and group support to persons served in a residential program
- Teach skills to enhance independence and quality of life
- Ensure a safe, secure and clean residential environment
- Assist individuals in becoming fully integrated into their communities
- Plan recreational and social activities that promote social inclusion and emotional well-being
- Support individuals in accessing assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Maintain records, collect data, and document all information related to individuals and programs
