Job Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • high school diploma or GED
  • 1 - 5 years of experience in residential and/or support services for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • personal vehicle and valid liability insurance
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including various days, hours, and sites
  • strong leadership ability
  • capacity to make sound judgments
  • ability to work well in a team
  • dependable and adaptable
  • patient and person-centered approach
  • successful clearance of a criminal background check
  • basic computer skills

Job Duties

  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance
  • be a lead for other DSP staff
  • ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve
  • assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more
  • perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • build relationships with persons served and teammates
  • attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events
  • transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home
  • empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest
  • document progress, milestones, and action steps
