Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current CPR/First Aid certification
- current Food Handlers card
- ability to work non-traditional schedule including holidays
- legible handwriting
- ability to do simple mathematics
- ability to read and comprehend agency policy and procedures
- valid drivers license and clean driving record

Job Duties
- Plan nutritious, well balanced meals per WAC 246-316-170 and in consultation with a certified dietician
- maintain all health practices and sanitation guidelines per agency kitchen standards
- maintain a sanitary and organized kitchen including routine cleaning of appliances and equipment
- post weekly menu plan for residents and file all menus for a minimum of 6 months
- arrange for food pick-up at the donation sites
- order food supplies on weekly basis
- ensure menu supplies and preparation directions for other staff who cook
- keep agency kitchen checklist per facility guidelines
- encourage resident help in kitchen operations including meal preparation, clean-up, and dishwashing as part of agency life skills training
- maintain records in keeping with agency guidelines
- attend scheduled staff meetings, community meetings, and trainings/conferences when on duty and as assigned
- review daily log and documents after each shift and communicate other staff members of any emergency situations
- provide immediate crisis intervention and resolution as needed
- other duties as assigned
