Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years experience in gas or energy industry including sales and account management
  • proficient in Microsoft Office and customer service software
  • working knowledge of NFPA 58 and related codes
  • experience with government bid submittals
  • valid Hawaii driver’s license
  • access to insured vehicle with current registration

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years progressive experience in the gas or energy industry including sales, cold calling, contract negotiations, proposal writing, and account management
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and customer service software
  • working knowledge of NFPA 58, gas utility systems, local zoning, plumbing, building and fire codes
  • experience with bid submittals for government contracts
  • preferred bachelor's or master’s degree in business administration, marketing or engineering
  • technical knowledge related to energy management, HVAC, distributed generation, and gas/electric equipment
  • knowledge of Hawaii’s energy market and business protocols
  • ability to plan, design and manage new gas services including load calculations, drawings, sizing, fire systems, and permitting

Job Duties

  • Identifies potential clients using innovative approaches and standard practices
  • devises and implements sales strategies to gain new residential accounts including effective use of proposals, energy comparison data, analyses and presentations
  • develops and employs account management strategies to maximize retention and growth of gas loads
  • builds, maintains, and enhances relations with customers to improve their experience
  • ensures customer service application and intake forms are completed accurately and timely using company systems
  • follows proper procedures when establishing new accounts including paperwork, installation coordination, and feasibility evaluation
  • designs new gas service systems with assistance from technical teams
  • promptly responds to customer inquiries and updates them on rates, practices, tariffs, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • assists Operations with tasks including tank relocation, load increases, tank sizing, field evaluation, and on-call supervision
  • keeps current with new residential gas appliances, equipment, technologies and energy industry trends
  • provides expertise in understanding customer’s energy needs and identifies opportunities for appliance installation and upgrades
  • represents the company in local professional and community activities and establishes relations with key industry personnel
  • assists in analyzing market conditions, identifying trends, and developing sales forecasts
