Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in gerontology, social work, or related field
- Minimum three years experience in social services
- Knowledge of legal liability issues related to services for elderly
- Commitment to serve elderly populations with complex challenges
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in gerontology, social work, or related field
- Minimum of three years experience providing social services to elderly populations
- Knowledge of legal liability issues related to social services for at-risk populations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve, educate, and advocate for vulnerable adults
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Master's degree or AASC Professional Services Coordinator certification preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Develop relationships and partnerships with local agencies and nonprofits to provide resident services
- Link and develop educational programming, wellness presentations, and on-site events promoting resident self-sufficiency
- Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, and local resources and entitlement programs for seniors
- Serve as liaison with medical, professional service providers, and community agencies upon request or authorization
- Report abuse, neglect, or exploitation of residents following state statutes and ethical standards
- Provide limited case management services when authorized by residents
- Maintain resident files in compliance with HUD and company requirements and prepare HUD reports
- Develop and maintain a resource directory for the community
- Assist residents and families with transitions into and out of the facility
- Accompany Community Director on apartment inspections and follow up on referrals
- Create monthly calendars and site newsletters with staff input
- Attend home visits of prospective tenants to facilitate early service coordination communication and move-in process
