Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant management or business or equivalent experience
  • minimum 3 years as a hotel general manager or 5 years of progressive hotel management experience
  • proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets including word, excel, powerpoint, and access
  • knowledge of hotel management and operations
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • reliable transportation for competitor visits and market development
  • ability to work flexible hours and days
  • ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and stressful environment
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to stand or sit for long periods
  • capability to perform light lifting or carrying

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant management or business preferred
  • 3 years as hotel general manager or 5 years progressive advancement in hotel management
  • knowledge of hotel management and operations

Job Duties

  • oversee daily hotel operations to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • provide market analysis and local conditions forecasts to the revenue management department
  • support sales efforts and corporate sales organization
  • train front desk and hotel staff on promotions and guest service protocols
  • forecast and manage operating expenses and labor costs
  • control utility and other expenses in line with business demand
  • execute company purchasing policies and procedures
  • manage guest satisfaction by resolving complaints and ensuring high service standards
  • develop and train employees according to human resources programs
  • maintain physical property quality through preventive maintenance
  • handle online reputation scores and take corrective actions
  • administer human resource policies and payroll
  • conduct wage surveys to maintain competitive compensation
  • maintain leadership standards and ethical conduct
  • achieve satisfactory employee satisfaction scores and manage turnover
