Job Requirements

  • Must meet minimum criteria to perform as a Supervisor in Charge in the State of North Carolina
  • Must be a licensed Medication Technician or CNA with at least one year of experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population
  • Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing and compassionate personality
  • Must be a person of deep moral integrity with demonstrated maturity and leadership skills
  • Must have knowledge of community agencies and appreciation for social and life history status of the residents

Job Duties

  • Ensures resident care staffing is within regulatory and company requirements with a 4-week rolling schedule submitted to the Director of Health and Wellness for approval at least one week in advance of posting due date
  • Maintains the resident care scheduling book with current approved requests for time off noted on the scheduling calendar for planning purposes
  • Performs daily filing of all documents relevant to the resident record in chronological order and performs quality assurance review of documents before filing
  • Performs the ongoing task of verbal order signature retrieval ensuring all orders are signed by the physician within 14 days
  • Conducts weekly cart audits of each medication cart following audit process and submits audit sheet to Director of Health and Wellness and Executive Director
  • Assists with data collection and reporting processes as requested
  • Performs daily review of medication administration process ensuring timely and accurate medication passing
  • Acts as preceptor to new team members ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Takes physician's orders following medication order process and maintains records of order transcription and verification
  • Protects Residents Rights
  • Administers emergency treatment as required and notifies physician and family
  • Completes incident and accident reports for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Notifies Director of Health and Wellness of changes in resident condition and ensures appropriate documentation
  • Schedules and arranges transportation for residents for medical services
  • Implements Fire Safety and Disaster Plan and evacuation procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Health and Wellness
  • Reviews monthly Medication Administration Record for order compliance
  • Assists Director of Health and Wellness with compliance related to medication administration logs and policies
  • Educates care staff on dietary services and assists during meal times
  • Performs building rounds to evaluate care and resident needs
  • Works overtime in emergency situations
  • Sets a good example by professional appearance and conduct
  • Takes weekend call in rotation with other managers
  • Participates in Manager on Duty Program
