Job Requirements
- Must enjoy serving seniors
- must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
- willingness to handle difficult residents
- ability to make independent decisions when necessary
- perform efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision
- maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- adhere to Century Park's Code of Ethics
- complete all required compliance training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year experience in senior services preferred
- State Trained Nursing Assistant certification if required by state
- CNA certification or Home Health Aide certification preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation and maintain current certification throughout employment
Job Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, toileting, hair care, and bathing
- read 24 hour log at beginning of shift
- make routine rounds and check with residents to ensure care needs are met
- assist residents with clothing choices appropriate for the weather and ensure clothing is clean and stain free
- assist incontinent residents by checking clothing and linens to keep residents clean and dry
- assist residents with ambulation using walkers, canes, wheelchairs, etc.
- assist residents during meal times in the dining area
- encourage residents to participate in activities
- shampoo hair weekly if not done by beautician
- make beds daily and perform light housekeeping duties in resident apartments and common areas
- prepare residents for activities, meals, appointments
- deliver meals and assist with set up or feeding as needed
- verify residents are present for meals and check on those not attending
- report changes in resident conditions to nurse, Resident Care Director, or Executive Director
- welcome new residents and assist with adjustment to community
- assist residents with packing, unpacking, storing, labeling and inventorying belongings upon move in
- comply with infection control guidelines
