Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience preferably with seniors
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills good judgment and attention to detail
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements

Job Duties

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing dressing grooming toileting transferring and dining while encouraging independence
  • Serve meals in the dining room or residents apartments assist in meal preparation and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
  • Initiate and participate in leisure activities encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships
  • Maintain accurate and timely records documenting leisure activities incidents observations and changes in residents conditions
  • Ensure a clean safe and orderly environment for residents performing general housekeeping duties
  • Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests including emergency call pendants and telephone calls
  • Know each residents location remind them to sign out when leaving and promptly report if a resident cannot be located
  • Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers
  • Attend all required in-service training sessions
  • Be an active member of the community emergency response team
  • Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies
